Waterside Eveline

Reg 93/30  DOB 18/6/93 - 22/2/19   Sire Stoneriggs Alick   Dam Hodgson Lane Eveline

22 February 2019  Almost two and a half years after bringing Eveline home from the Waterside dispersal and allow them to quietly retire.  One of those, 93/130 Waterside Eveline, born 18 June 1993, left us, almost 26 years old. She was by Stoneriggs Alick, out of Hodgson Lane Eveline and for me epitomises the Dales pony; she was kind, quiet, stoic, a fabulous mover right to her last days, independent and loving. She was bred by the late Walter Heap and was the mother of Waterside ponies Midnight, Rob, Toby, Joanne, Rosie II, Belle, Dave, Maria, Pollyanna, Princess II, Rose, Black Magic, Ebony and Breeze; that’s an incredible 14 foals, 9 fillies and 5 colts.

This mare meant a lot to me in particular, having had the pleasure of three of her daughters, Joanne who has done everything we could possibly ask of her, then Maria and now Ebony, all three broken by Nicola. Maria lives in Derbyshire, but the other two are here.  I will always be grateful to Eveline for having Joanne who gave me the confidence to ride (I was a very late learner).

Breeding quality animals with substance and type.  The farm is located on the edge of Burnley in East Lancashire, 1 mile from Jn 10 of the M65.
